Setup and Deployment

The BRNKL Black Portable (BBP) is designed for rapid, temporary installation on a vessel.
Follow these steps to unpack, secure, and connect the unit.

1. Unpacking and Inspection

  1. Open the outer shipping carton.

  2. Open the case and remove the expanding foam insert.

  3. Retain both the foam insert and the shipping box for return or future transport.

2. Positioning and Securing the Case

  • Select a location that is:

    • Close enough to connect to the vessel's NMEA 2000 backbone and power source.

    • Sheltered from direct rain or heavy spray when in use (ports are not sealed when connected).

  • Secure the case so it does not slide or shift during vessel movement.

  • Route cables to avoid pinching or crushing.

3. Connecting Antennas

  • Attach the GPS antenna to the GPS port on the front panel.

  • Place the GPS antenna in a spot with a clear view of the sky.
