Using the BBP During a Trial

Once the BBP is deployed and powered, the BRNKL Black collects, monitors, and logs vessel data. This section explains how to access and interact with your system effectively.

System Interfaces: Device Manager vs. BRNKL App

Device Manager (DM)

  • The primary interface for managing connected devices, configuring settings, and reviewing collected data.

  • Accessible both locally and remotely when the unit has internet access.

BRNKL App (Mobile / Web)

  • Optional Remote-only access method. Enables users to monitor vessel status, view live or recorded video, and receive alerts via their mobile device or browser.

  • Requires Cloud Connection to be enabled in the Device Manager and a BRNKL App User ID tied to an email address.

Accessing the Device Manager and BRNKL App

Device Manager Access

  • Local: Via your browser at http://192.168.50.100 once connected to the Peplink Wi-Fi.

  • Remote: Through a secure tunnel using the unique URL found on the sticker, or within the BRNKL App.

Manager ID Login

  • The first login prompts creation of a Manager ID, which is unique to this device. The BBP will typically come with a preconfigured Manager ID.

BRNKL App Setup (Optional)

  • Enable Remote Access in the Device Manager settings.

  • Add the device via its Serial Number or QR code within the app.

  • Other users can be invited to the App by the device owner.

  • Use the App for monitoring and alerts.

About Manager IDs:

  • They apply only the specific BRNKL Device.

  • Additional Manager IDs can be created on the Device Manager settings page.

  • They are distinct from BRNKL App User IDs, which are linked to an email address.

Monitoring Live Data

Once logged into the Device Manager (or App):

  • View real-time telemetry: vessel position, NMEA 2000 data, camera feeds (if connected), and other connected data.

Adjusting Monitored Data

  • Navigate to Settings → Devices → NMEA 2000.

  • Add, remove, or rename endpoints.

  • Toggle Monitor, Alert, and Record for each endpoint as needed.

Exporting Logs for Review

Use the Device Manager's export function to download data for:

  • Specific time frames

  • Selected data types
