The BRNKL Black Portable - NATO is designed for rapid, temporary installation on a vessel.
Follow these steps to unpack, secure, and connect the unit.
1. Unpacking and Inspection

Open the outer shipping carton.

Open the case and remove the expanding foam insert.

Retain both the foam insert and the shipping box for return or future transport.

Inspect the case exterior for any shipping damage.

Check that all required accessories are included (camera, cables, power adapter if applicable).
2. Positioning and Securing the Case

Select a location that is:
-
Close enough to connect to the vessel's NMEA 2000 backbone and power source.

Sheltered from direct rain or heavy spray when in use (ports are not sealed when connected).

Secure the case so it does not slide or shift during vessel movement.

Route cables to avoid pinching or crushing.
3. Connecting Antennas

Attach the GPS antenna to the GPS port on the front panel.

Place the GPS antenna in a spot with a clear view of the sky.
4. Connecting Sensors and Cameras

Connect the NMEA 2000 drop cable to the vessel's NMEA 2000 backbone.

If using a POE camera, connect it to the POE Ethernet port on the front panel.

Attach any additional I/O devices as required.

6. Powering On

Ensure all vessel interface connections are made.

Connect your chosen power source.

The BRNKL Black will power on immediately and the Peplink router will begin its boot sequence (up to 5 minutes).

Verify the router's Wi-Fi network is visible.
7. Network Setup (Default Trial Configuration)
Accessing the Peplink Router

Connect your device to the Peplink Wi-Fi network using the credentials provided on the included sticker or sent via email.

Open a web browser and go to
http://192.168.50.1to access the Peplink local web interface. -
Log in with the provided username and password.

To enable internet access via Wi-Fi WAN:

In the Peplink interface, configure Wi-Fi WAN to connect to an available network.

If a SIM is installed and active, cellular data will be available automatically.
Accessing the BRNKL Black

Local Network Access:

While connected to the Peplink Wi-Fi, open a web browser and go to
http://192.168.50.100.

Remote Access (if connected to the internet):
-
Use the secure tunnel URL provided on the included sticker, or scan the QR code.
-
This will open a secure connection to the BRNKL Black without requiring local network access.
