Overview
This guide explains how to set up the Furuno FIP-460 camera with BRNKL. The FIP-460 is a compact, high-definition marine camera that integrates seamlessly into your vessel’s network and can be monitored directly through BRNKL.
Prerequisites

✅ Supported: Furuno FIP-460

❌ Not supported: Other Furuno camera models are not yet supported by BRNKL.
Install Camera

Refer to the Furuno FIP-460 user manual for mounting and wiring instructions.

Connect the camera to the Furuno network.

If using a Furuno network switch and you want the camera to be available 24/7:

Configure the switch to remain powered on.

Ensure the camera is powered by a source that provides 24/7 power.

Prepare Camera
Find the Camera’s IP Address

If BRNKL is connected via USB Ethernet adapter:

Log in to BRNKL Device Manager → Settings > Cameras > Add Camera.

The FIP-460 will be auto-discovered, and its IP address will be shown.

If BRNKL is connected via VLAN in a router:
-
Check the router’s device list for the camera IP, or
-
Connect a laptop/smartphone directly to the Furuno network and run an IP scanning tool (e.g., LAN Scanner).

Log in to the Camera

Enter the camera’s IP address in a browser.

Default login credentials:
-
ID: admin
-
Password: 1234

Configure Stream Settings

Go to Setup > Camera > Stream Format.

Under 1st Stream Setting, configure:

Frame Rate: 20
-
Bitrate: 2400000 bps

Click Save.
Set Static IP Address

Go to Network > Network Setting.
-
Set IP Type to Static.
-
Configure as follows:
-
IP Address:
192.18.6.__-
Choose a unique number (__) between 50–90.

Record the full IP address for later use.
-

Subnet Mask:
255.255.0.0 -
Default Gateway:
-
If connected via VLAN → set to
192.18.6.200or your VLAN gateway. -
If connected directly to Furuno network → keep the DHCP-assigned gateway.

Save and apply the settings.
Add to BRNKL Device Manager

Open BRNKL Device Manager → Settings > Cameras.

Click Add Camera.

If BRNKL is connected to the Furuno network via USB Ethernet adapter, the FIP-460 will be auto-discovered.

If it is not auto-discovered, click + Enter camera IP address and enter the static IP you configured.

Enter credentials:
-
Username: root
-
Password: (leave blank)

Enter a descriptive name for the camera (e.g., Engine Room, Cockpit).

Click Add.
