This page covers transferring the BRNKL Blue in the BRNKL app only. The transfer does not affect the Device Manager, the Manager IDs on it, or any data stored on the BRNKL Blue itself. To prepare a unit for a new owner, see "Prepare the unit for the new owner" below.
Transfer your BRNKL Blue to a new owner in the BRNKL app while maintaining control over which events, videos, and app users carry over.
Only the current device owner can transfer ownership. To begin, open the BRNKL app, go to Settings > Users, click your name under Owners, and select Change Owner.

Manage events and videos

Delete — events and videos in the BRNKL app are permanently removed before transfer.

Share — events and videos in the BRNKL app are shared with the new owner.
This setting only affects what's visible in the BRNKL app. It does not delete recorded video or sensor data stored on the BRNKL Blue itself.
Manage users

Remove — all current app users (except the new owner) lose access immediately when the transfer is accepted.

Keep — current app users retain their app access under the new owner.
Invite new owner
Select an existing user from your device, or enter the email address of someone new. If the new owner doesn't have a BRNKL account, they'll be guided through account creation when they accept the transfer.
Transfer process

Choose your preferences for events/videos and users, then review your selections on the confirmation page.

Click Transfer. An email invitation is sent to the new owner and you'll see Transfer in progress under your name in the Users tab.

The new owner has 7 days to accept via the link in the email.
After the transfer
If the new owner accepts
They become the new owner in the BRNKL app immediately and are redirected to the device.
If the new owner declines
The transfer is cancelled. You remain the owner with full access and no changes are made to your app data or users.
If no response after 7 days
The invitation expires. You remain the owner with full access. The expiry date is shown in your Users tab, and the new owner will see Invite has expired if they try to use the link.
Manage a pending transfer

To cancel, click Cancel under Transfer in progress in the Users tab.

To resend the invitation, click Send invite again. This resets the 7-day expiry.
Prepare the unit for the new owner
App transfer is only one part of handing over a BRNKL Blue. Several other tasks need to happen on the device itself:
Create a Manager ID for the new owner
The Device Manager has its own login (Manager IDs) that's separate from BRNKL app accounts. Create a new Manager ID for the new owner before handing the unit over. See Access BRNKL Blue for details on Manager IDs.
Clear data stored on the unit
End users cannot mass-delete sensor history or recorded video from the BRNKL Blue. The built-in factory reset only resets configuration, not data. To clear historical data before handing over the unit, contact BRNKL support.
Review or remove configuration
Inputs, outputs, automations, geofences, paired wireless devices, and connected cameras remain configured on the BRNKL Blue after app transfer. The new owner can adjust these via the Device Manager once they're logged in.
