Add indoor wireless motion sensor

This page covers the device-specific steps for the Zooz ZSE11 Q Sensor. For general pairing flow, prerequisites, and activity settings, see Add wireless device. For full product details, see the Zooz manufacturer's page.

The indoor motion sensor detects movement inside the vessel. Commonly placed in cabins, salons, or companionways, it can trigger alerts, record events, or activate automations when motion is detected. It also reports temperature, humidity, illuminance, and battery and power state.

Endpoints

Once paired, the Q Sensor exposes six endpoints in the Wireless device list, each configured independently:

  • Motion Detection — digital state, triggers when motion is detected. Set Alert When to High to alert on motion. Pair with Record on Alert to capture video when triggered.

  • Air Temperature — analog reading in °F or °C. Use Upper and Lower Threshold to alert on temperature extremes (e.g., overheating engine room or freezing bilge).

  • Humidity — analog reading in %. Use Upper Threshold to alert on excess moisture.

  • Illuminance — analog reading in lux. Useful for detecting lights left on.

  • External Power — digital state showing whether the sensor is connected to external USB power (Connected / Disconnected).

  • Battery Level — analog reading reporting remaining battery percentage. Use Lower Threshold to alert when the battery drops below a chosen level.

Remove motion sensor
